Rental Terms and Conditions

  • Rental Payment - Full payment of rent, 10% transient occupancy tax, non-refundable $110 cleaning services fee, and a $300 security deposit must be received 30 days prior to your intended arrival date. If full payment is not received, your reservation will be cancelled and you will forfeit the $100 reservation fee for reservations made more than 30 days in advance of your arrival date.

    For reservations made less than 14 days prior to your arrival date, a cashier's check or money order for the full rental amount, tax, and cleaning services fee, plus the $300 security deposit is required.

  • Check-in/Check-out Time - Check-in time is 3:00 P.M. Check-out time is 11:00 A.M.

  • Maximum Occupancy - Our chalet is equipped with bedding arrangements to handle up to a maximum of seven people. Occupancy of more than seven people requires prior approval.

  • No Smoking - Smoking is not allowed in the chalet. Ashtrays or ash cans are available outside on the deck and front porch for our guests who smoke. Please do not dispose of your cigarettes, cigars, matches etc., anywhere outside unless it is in one of the appropriate receptacles since there is a high risk of forest fires. If there are indications that you have smoked inside the chalet (burns or odor from cigarettes, cigars, etc.) you will lose your entire security deposit.

  • No Pets - No pets or animals are allowed during your stay. Sorry, no exceptions.

  • Parking Regulations - Parking is only allowed in the driveway or inside the garage. Vehicles may not be parked in the street, dirt or common area. This is particularly important during the winter when snow removal conditions exist. You will be ticketed by the South Lake Tahoe police if your vehicle is parked in the street inhibiting the snow plows from doing their job.   • Equipment Storage - All ski equipment, sleds, bikes, etc., should be stored in the garage and not brought upstairs or into the recreation room of the chalet.

  • Usage of Community Facilities - Pool and spa usage is limited to property owners and rental guests only. You may not invite people who are not part of your party staying at the chalet to use the facilities. Entry to the recreation area is by front door key. Please see Tahoe Tyrol Home Owners Association Rules and Regulations for further information concerning the use of the pool and recreation area.
Cancellation Policy

  • 30 or More Days Prior to Arrival Date - If you cancel your reservation 30 or more days prior to your intended arrival date, you will forfeit your $100 reservation fee.

  • Less Than 30 Days Prior to Arrival Date - If you cancel your reservation less than 30 days prior to your intended arrival date, only your security deposit, cleaning services fee, and the 10% occupancy tax will be refunded. We will attempt to mitigate your loss of rent by placing another suitable renter in the property for the same time period reserved.

  • Cancellations Due to Bad Weather - No refunds are given for cancellations due to weather. However, we will work with you to find another suitable time for you to rent.

  • Cancellation Notification - All cancellations must be made by telephone or email. If you do not hear back from us, please try to contact us again as we may not have received your notification.
Security Deposit Refund Policy

Violations of any of the following conditions will result in a deduction or forfeiture of your security deposit:

  • Missing or broken inventory items (dishes, linens, decorative items, etc.)

  • Any damages to the chalet or its contents requiring repair or replacement.

  • Rearranging or moving furniture.

  • Excessive dirtiness requiring more than normal clean-up.

  • Evidence that you have smoked or had pets in the chalet.

  • Evidence that the maximum allowed number of people in the chalet has been exceeded without prior approval.

  • Late check-out without prior approval.

  • A $15.00 per key charge will be assessed if all keys are not returned by check-out time at 11:00 A.M. unless we have made other arrangements with you regarding how keys are to be returned.

  • A re-keying charge of the chalet will be assessed if any of the keys are lost.

  • A service charge will be assessed to mail any personal belongings left after your stay.

Your security deposit will be returned within 14 days providing there was no damage to the chalet or loss of inventory.
